About GEB

Alvin is a male Black Lab, born 16 July 1997.  He was the xth dog raised by John, Beth and Robert of Williamson.  Alvin passed his IFT on 23 March 1999 and graduated with his new partner in 2000.  This partnership did not work out and Alvin returned to GEB and graduated with his new partner on 20 April 2002.  He retired in December 2004 at 7 1/2 years old.  He returned to live with his raiser, Bob, in Palatka, Florida (Bob was totally thrilled to get Alvin back!).  In the 4th picture shown below, the humans are Bob's parents, John and Beth, who transported Alvin to Florida to reunite him with Bob.

Interesting fact:  Sometimes partnerships between dogs and humans end earlier than planned for a variety of reasons.  If the dog is still young when this happens, often the dog returns to GEB for evaluation.  When possible, GEB retrains them for pairing with another visually impaired person.

Congratulations, Alvin (and John, Beth and Robert)!
