Beau

Beau is a male Yellow Lab, born 9 January 2008. He is being raised by Bethany of Williamson. He is the 1st GEB puppy she has raised. Beau returned to Guiding Eyes and passed his IFT on 4 August 2009. He is currently in training.

Bethany takes Beau on many adventures. His reading program was featured in the local paper. Bethany wrote this poem about her time so far with Beau.

~On a snowy night a little pup came to me.
He was a perfect color of yellow and I fell in love with him instantly.
He was little and sleepy, but oh so excited to see new things.
He didn't stay little for long and now he is a 69 pound, sweet, and adorable dog.
Growing more and more.
Learning more things each day.
Soon enough he will leave to help someone who can't see.
I will miss him so.....
but I knew from the start that he wouldn't be here for long.

Bethany says: "Beau was a very easy going puppy/dog. He went along with me as I took him to stores, parks, friend's houses, and sleepovers. He challenged me to have patience and persistence as we worked on his fear of open stairs. I looked for short sets of open stairs all the time and when we found them we went up and down, up and down, to help him overcome his fear. Having him as my first puppy was great. He loved to snuggle and cuddle and he loved to read with little kids. Good luck Beau! I can't wait to see you graduate!"
