| Heidi is a female Golden Retriever. She was born 3 September 2003 and raised by Donna and Dennis of Rochester (their xth puppy raised). Her IFT was on 19 January 2005 and at that time, she began "brood watch" - observation to see if she could be one of the best of the best that carry on the lines of GEB dogs. After passing her tests, Heidi was selected for the breeding program. This is a very big honor. Her first litter was born on 17 June 2005. Her daughter Roberta, of that litter, was also raised by Donna and Dennis. Daughter Rose followed in her mother's pawprints and is a Brood at GEB. Two daughters from her second litter, Carla and Carolyn, born on 30 March 2006 are being raised in the Monroe Region. Heidi lives near the breeding center in Brewster, New York with her foster, Cindy and family. To date, she has had 13 puppies, with daughter Rose awaiting her turn in the breeding program. Interesting fact: Heidi's litter is a result of the formal "Cooperative Breeding" relationship between GEB and 5 other guide dog schools. Heidi's mother is Guiding Eyes for the Blind Asia, and her sire is Kapp, from The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ. By sharing dogs between selected guide dog schools, each organization's bloodlines are enhanced. Congratulations, Heidi (and Donna and Dennis)!
