Image
is a female Black Lab, born 8 March 2007. She is being raised by Kelly of
Rochester. Image is the second GEB puppy that Kelly has
raised. Kelly comes to the Monroe region from the Finger Lakes
region. Her first puppy, Vasco, graduated on 24 March 2007 from that
region and is now a guide in New York City.
From the tender age of 8 weeks, Image went to work with Kelly as a Student
Manager on the Ithaca College Campus. Image even had a little sign with
her name. Although she had worked at the campus for 3 years, Kelly says
"People didn't always know my name--but they always knew Image."
Guiding Eyes for the Blind is making a film about Kelly's first dog, Vasco, and
his partner, Gary. The film crew drove to Ithaca this summer to film Image
and Kelly for 3 hours.
One more thing about Image is that she loves to give other dogs kisses and bring them toys. Right now Kelly lives in a house with another dog who is
only five pounds--Misty. Image always tries to bring Misty a toy but the bones are always almost the same size as Misty! Image then just will
lay down facing Misty with the bone as if waiting for her to start to play/chew.
