Kendrick

Kendrick is a male Black & Tan German Shepherd Dog, born 25 April 2006 He is being raised by Diane of Greece. Kendrick was the 5th dog raised by Diane. He returned to GEB for his "entrance exam" on 13 November, 2007. Kendrick is currently in the home training program which means that he will meet his new partner and train in the area in which they will live.

Diane likes to take dogs to the Rochester Amtrak station to allow them to socialize to the closest thing we have to a subway! As part of their Guide Dog training, the dogs do go into New York City to the subway station. Kendrick will have a good start on this exercise.

Interesting Fact: Kendrick, Kyrie and Kincaid are siblings.

At the time of his IFT, raiser Diane writes:

Kendrick has the greatest personality. He is so very smart and loves to play games. Two of his favorites are "fetch" and "find it." For "'find it", Kendrick would be in a "sit, stay" in one room of the house. I would take his toy and hide it someplace else in the house. Returning to Kendrick, I would release him to go "find it." All the commands were done with hand signals. "Fetch" is self explanatory but he was wonderful about dropping the ball right at my feet. If I wasn't prompt about throwing the ball, he would pick it up and drop it again as a reminder.
For me, his most endearing trait was taking a toy to bed with him every night. After Kendrick would "go place" in his bed for the night, I would get ready for bed myself. While I was doing that, Kendrick would get out of his bed (which was in my bedroom), go back downstairs and retrieve a toy to sleep with. It was never the same toy. One night, I must have taken longer than usual getting ready for bed because Kendrick had surrounded himself in his bed with 4 toys!
