| Vinny is a male Black Lab, born 26 December 2005. He was raised by Peter and Helen of Pittsford and is the 2nd puppy they raised. Pete & Helen were attracted to Vinny while volunteering at the Breeding Center after dropping off their first dog, Welby, at the Training Center. Taking another pup so fast was not their original plan, but they couldn't resist the opportunity to raise Vinny. Vinny was a large pup and grew into a strong, handsome, confident dog. He also was a playful pup who loved being with his raisers and their friends. Vinny loved having a "big brother" in the house when Welby returned home after being released from training. Vinny passed his IFT on 20 February 2007 and after completing Phase 3 of training, decided that the harness was too bothersome and he would rather return to Helen, Peter, and Welby and help to raise Trooper! On 26 August 2007, Vinny passed his Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog tests.
