Guiding Eyes for the Blind - Monroe Region

Hi Puppy Raisers, Sitters, Applicants and Friends of GEB,

Please be reminded that our puppy picnic is replacing a "regular" puppy class on Monday evening, Sept. 10. The invitation is attached in case you have forgotten the details; if you need a refresher on directions, the map is below.

Hope to see you on Monday evening. Please keep in mind that a "controlled" social event such as this is a good learning experience for our potential guide dogs!

When: Monday, September 10^th beginning at 6:00 PM

Where: Martin Road Park at Buyck Shelter (See map below)

*Happy the Clown will visit to do balloon art & face painting.
*There is a nice playground area for the kids.
*All attendees are asked to bring their own plates, napkins, eating utensils, and a dish to share.
*The region will provide burgers, hot dogs, beverages and dessert.
*There is a nearby pond in which dogs are allowed to swim.

Be sure to bring a dog towel, long leash, pickup bags, water dish, and your dog’s proof of rabies vaccine.

*To control the number of dogs, we must insist that only GEB affiliated dogs attend the picnic.

Coming from the NORTH –

Take 390 SOUTH to the LEHIGH STATION ROAD Exit (#12A, also Route 253)

Take a LEFT off the ramp

Get IMMEDIATELY into the far right lane

Take a RIGHT at the SECOND LIGHT onto MIDDLE ROAD

Take MIDDLE ROAD to MARTIN ROAD

Take a RIGHT onto MARTIN ROAD

Park will be on your RIGHTHAND SIDE

Coming from the SOUTH –

Take 390 NORTH to the LEHIGH STATION ROAD Exit (#12)

This is a joint exit for the NYS Thruway and Lehigh Station Road

Stay to the right so you don’t end up on the Thruway ;)

Take a RIGHT off the ramp

Stay in the right lane

Take an IMMEDIATE RIGHT at the FIRST LIGHT onto MIDDLE ROAD

Take MIDDLE ROAD to MARTIN ROAD

Take a RIGHT onto MARTIN ROAD

Park will be on your RIGHTHAND SIDE
