About GEB

This page highlights Monroe County dogs that have recently changed status - gone "In For Training" (IFT) to the Guiding Eyes For The Blind Training Center in Yorktown Heights, NY, graduated with a new partner, retired, or had puppies!  The spotlight is currently on....

Olson and Mattie graduated with their new partners on June 21st.  Olson was a home training graduate so we don't have a picture yet, but we're sure he is a hit with his new partner and community!

Congratulations to guides, partners and raisers!

Olson trained and graduated with his new partner in DeKalb, IL.
Mattie graduated with new partner Jessica.  Stu and Cindy traveled to GEB to attend the ceremony, see Mattie off to Ohio, and meet his new partner.

Cindy writes: Meet Guide Dog Mattie!  We are so proud of him. His graduate just graduated from college. She is planning to go back to school in the near future.

Jessica said that she and Mattie traveled NYC for the first time on Thursday. She said that she had never been there before and said Mattie made it so easy for her. She said she couldn’t have done it so well with out him :0-)  He did a perfect job. I think they are going to make a wonderful team.

Mattie’s graduate Jessica got together with a couple of other graduates and made bandana’s for the dogs.

They all have their names and a symbol on them. I asked Jessica why she chose the American Flag. She said she chose it in memory Mattie Stepanek.
